Techniques
& Materials:
We
decided to use a hand cut appliqué to create a dimension
with a raw look/texture that literally stands out.
The
edgings are hand cut and stitched with tiny hemming
stitch, which is how the designs are appliquéd. What
is astounding is how appliqué is combined with embroidery
to create a new effect on the fabric.
On the flaming bowling ball we used a screenprint as
a background image. The screenprint was done as a tone
on tone colour to give it a faded look.
